In the case of laser surgery, the actual treatment lasts only a few minutes and is practically painless. Because of the local anesthesia with eye drops, you will at the most feel a slight pressure, but no pain. While you are comfortably lying, your eye will be maintained open with a special lid holder, and the computer-guided treatment will be performed under constant control of the surgeon. The sojourn in the operating room generally lasts no more than 30 minutes, for both eyes. In the case of a laser treatment, both eyes can be treated during the same operating session.

In the case of implantation surgery, the two eyes are never treated during the same operating session. The implants are introduced into each eye during different sessions at different dates. The implantation procedure usually lasts only a few minutes and you can leave the clinic after about two hours.
