Hyperopia (farsightedness)

If you are farsighted, you will see well in younger years, near and far, as long as the natural power of accommodation (ability to focus to short distances) can still compensate the hyperopia. Relatively soon, however, near objects are not seen sharply anymore, and with advancing years the vision of distant objects also declines.

Hyperopia is usually present from birth and remains present throughout life.

Hyperopia can be corrected by eye surgery under appropriate conditions.
