Analysis of the cornea
Videotopography systems permit a precise analysis of the anterior part of the eye (outer and inner surface of the cornea, thickness, iridocorneal angle, depth of anterior chamber, pupil size, position of iris, diameter of cornea, radius and regularity of corneal surfaces, and more).
Such devices record important data for refractive-surgery treatments and play an important role in the preliminary examination. Together with other criteria they form the basis for the decision whether to refractive surgery may be an option or not.
Orbscan® topograph by BAUSCH & LOMB
The ORBSCAN furnishes a three-dimensional representation of the anterior part of the eye, including cornea, pupil, and iris. Because of the high measuring precision of 0.0002 mm, it is possible to decide whether a treatment by laser is indicated or not.
The anterior segment of the eye is represented as a topographical surface. Possible modifications due to the presence of a disease become visible in a more precise fashion than was possible up to now. And the interpretation of the results of LASIK or corneal transplant operations is also made easier.

Humphrey® ATLAS™ corneal topography system
ATLAS is a highly efficient system for the precise analysis of anatomical cornea data, as well as for the diagnosis of corneal diseases.
